ABSTRACT

Compartment syndrome is defined as the presence of signs and symptoms related to increased pressure within a compartment defined leading to the reduction or elimination of vascular perfusion and thus to ischemia of the tissues in the affected compartment. So true orthopedic emergency. As stated in acute compartment syndrome or post-traumatic happens after high-energy trauma or after a prolonged period of ischemia and may represent the loss of limb if not treated urgently. The etiology of acute compartment syndrome is secondary compartment by a decrease or increase in the pressure of the contents of the compartment, or both, regardless of aetiology, unequivocal is the presence of significant pain in the affected limb, the pressure increase intracompartmental 30-40 mmHg. So acting quickly limit neurological damage in an affected limb, fasciotomies treatment involves extensive without closure for intra-pressure release, then performing a progressive continuous closure.
