ABSTRACT

Acute gastrointestinal bleeding in children is an alarming situation for parents and physicians. Its etiology is age related. This review suggests a diagnostic and therapeutic approach according to the age of the patient, the bleeding site, the presence of hemodynamic compromise, and clinical signs, thus, encouraging an early therapeutic intervention.
