ABSTRACT

Seventy individuals among 8 and 17 years old, who practice Soccer (the most popular sport in Mexico) in the “Pumas Chalco Soccer Team” without previous Osgood-Schlatter diagnosis, were studied. Blinded clinical revision was performed by two members of our crew. Also anthropometric measurements were done. The prevalence of Osgood-Schlatter was 14%; the symptoms were only present during sports practice and not during rest. The presence of Osgood-Schlatter was not related to any of the anthropometric characteristics. Increase in weight, height and age had a correlation to the increase of patellar height (Significance ‹ 0.0001).
