Open fracture of patella with vertical pattern, a case report

ABSTRACT

We present a case of a patient with vertical open patella fracture, which is handled through surgical debridement cleaning, open reduction and internal attachment under the biomechanical principle of interfragmentary compression with 3.5 mm bolts. The kneecap open fractures are a surgical emergency and should be treated with immediate debridement and cleaning, the proper covering of soft tissues reduces the incidence of infection.
