ABSTRACT

The Objective of this research was to analyze the scientific productivity of the College Nursing Journal of the National School of Nursing and Obstetrics (Eneo) during 2007-2011, based on bibliometric indicators. Theoretical framework: The scientific publication in the field of health sciences is an important indicator, an essential tool in the development of the professions, since science is disclosed from scientific publication and bibliometric indicators, because it is the means to disseminate knowledge, contrasting the findings and use them in the theoretical or practical construction of science. To measure scientific productivity is used the bibliometry, which allows based on bibliometric indicators measure the quality and scientific editorial of a journal. Methodology: The measured variable was scientific and editorial quality. In this research we measured the size of scientific productivity, based on bibliometric indicators. The type of study was a quantitative non-experimental, retrospective, cross-sectional, comparative, analytical, descriptive and diagnostic. Results: From 2007 to 2011 there were 20 journals, of which three were edited in 2007, four issues in each of the years 2008, 2009 and 2011 and published a total of 148 articles. Conclusions: College Nursing Journal has considerably improved its editorial quality which has enabled it to maintain its position in the national and international recognition as an important organ for the diffusion of scientific communication and practice of nursing.
