ABSTRACT

Anticholinergic syndrome is a complication of many drugs with antimuscarinic effects. It is characterized by midriasis, motor incoordination, nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, shivering, fever, dry mouth and skin, taquicardia, photophobia, retention of urine, paralytic ileus, delirium, confusion and coma. Because of multiplicity of factors its diagnosis is clinical. The treatment is based on supportive measurements and physostigmine. The aim of this paper is to report a case of anticholinergic syndrome secondary to intoxication with dyphenidramine and review the literature.
