Self-assessment process of the Medicine career in Medical Sciences University of Ciego de Ávila for Its accreditation

ABSTRACT

Actuality, the improvement of the process quality that are developed in higher medical education centers is a necessity, where is carried out the integral training and the improvement of the human resources for the Health National System. The require to carried out pertinent processes with social needs, impose the challenge to reach levels of comparable quality with the international standards. In correspondence with this purpose, the Medicine career in the Medical Sciences University of Ciego de Ávila, with its 34 years of uninterruptible work in teaching, investigation and its links with the community, assumes the Self-assessment process with the aim to characterize the development of the training of the General Doctor, identify strength and weaknesses and elaborate a plan of quality improvement, to request the external evaluation and reach the level of certified or excellence career. The aim of this article is to spread the results of this process in the university.
