ABSTRACT
Introduction: The bilateral cleft lip represents less than 10% of cleft lip in general, but its management requires adherence to certain principles of the state of art. In the literature there are various surgical techniques for management of bilateral cleft lip, one of which is the technique described by Dr. Oscar Asensio del Valle. Objective: To report a case of bilateral cleft lip managed by Asensio’s surgical technique. Methods: Under general anesthesia landmarks, measurements, design, complete dissection and repair of the bilateral cleft lip was done. Results: After one year of follow up, the patient shows adequate cosmetic and functional results. Conclusions: The Asensio’s surgical technique for bilateral cleft lip meets the current criteria for the state of art.REFERENCES
