ABSTRACT

Introduction: the cerebral paralysis is a dysfunction that has affected the children during millennia; its precocious diagnosis is possible with the application of a neurological meticulous exam in systematic consultations in the first months of age in children with high risk.
Objetive: to evaluate the effectiveness of a program of early attention to born children with precocious signs of cerebral paralysis.
Material and Methods: a quasi-experimental, longitudinal, prospective and applied study is carried out. The patients in study are evaluated monthly and they are applied to a first evaluative cut between the 3th and 4th months of life; after their incorporation to a program of intensive rehabilitation a second evaluative cut is carried out between the 9th and 12th month.
Result: between the 3th and 4th month of life the more frequent precocious signs of cerebral paralysis were the hypertonia, the quadriplegia, the alterations of the posture and the persistence of the primitive reactions. In the second cut the number of patients that compensated the precocious signs of cerebral paralysis prevailed.
Conclusions: the used rehabilitation protocol was effective in all the patients.
