ABSTRACT

The solitary pulmonary nodule in most cases is detected incidentally on chest radiography in asymptomatic patients. While most of these lesions will be benign, some may represent early stages of lung cancer. The evaluation of the radiological characteristics and growth rates of the nodule, can guide the differentiation between benign or malignant nodule type, and when this distinction is not entirely clear result in the classification of indeterminate nodule, which need further studies to determine their tumor nature.
