ABSTRACT

Objective: To identify what place occupies the respect in doctors in the practice of physical medicine & rehabilitations. Material and methods: An instrument of evaluation of 10 real clinical cases was made of the rehabilitation consultation, that explored the areas of respect, no respect and escape, validated by three expert in bioethics. It was applied to residents and external doctors of rehabilitation, in anonymous form, requesting that only an answer was answered by clinical case. Results: The questionnaire had a coefficient of 0.80 of in the formulate 20 of the test Kuder Richardson, being its consistency acceptable. With answers of respect in 74%, no respect in 14% and of escape in 12%, there was significant difference in the groups 2 and 3 in the answers of no respect, the rest of the comparative groups didn’t present significant difference in the answers of respect and escape. Conclusion: It was demonstrated that the attitudes of respect were presented in more proportion in all the evaluated doctors. In relation to the attitudes of no respect and escape, these they were presented in more proportion in the resident doctors of 2° and 3er year. The above-mentioned justifies reinforcing the activities of education in medical ethics in all the rehabilitation actions.
