ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper is to share our experience in the laparoscopic approach in pediatric patients with cholelithiasis with three ports. Material and methods: Ten procedures were performed laparoscopically in patients diagnosed with cholelithiasis who were treated at the Hospital General de Puebla «Eduardo Vázquez Navarro» and Hospital para El Niño Poblano during January 2007 to October 2013. Results: 80% were female with an age range between 7 and 16 years. The surgical approach was carried out without complications, requiring only one case of gallbladder aspiration for better dissection. Conclusions: In patients with symptomatic cholelithiasis, laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the treatment of choice. Since de inition of the laparoscopic cholecystectomy, many surgeons have been used 4 work ports. During the time, the plan is to reduce the working ports until the single port.
