Integral rehabilitation treatment of megacolon agangliónic. A case report

ABSTRACT

We present a five years old male scholar, with difficulties to defecate since the birth, with a diagnosis of aganglionic megacolon, this denomination identifies the congenital absence of neuronal cells in the nervous plexus of the portion distal of the digestive tract (Right /Sigmoid in 80 % of the cases.), at two years of age, it was operated making anatomizes finish-terminal to the region innervate with sequel of fecal incontinence. At five years old he is again evaluated with a new rectal manometer, being demonstrated function of the musculature, sending it to the consultation of pelvic floor of Medical Surgery Research Center (Cimeq), where begins the evaluation process, rehabilitation specialized reeducative and physical, with electrotherapy, magnetotheraphy and floor pelvic exercises. Progressively it was diminishing the magnitude of the incontinence and the frequency of emission of the grounds, achieving defecation at the moment two times a day, in bathroom sanatorium, with alone some escape to the important efforts. Simultaneously is carried out the incorporation process to the boy's social life, finished the first degree, where he participates in the activities characteristic according with his age.
