ABSTRACTIntroduction: The substance abuse is a serious and complex social phenomenon, is a health problem directly related to the family and education, young people are the most susceptible to the consumption sector.
Objectives: To determine drug use in adolescents and to identify the factors that predispose.
Methodological Design: A descriptive study was conducted, the universe was composed of 232 students and 90 students sampled randomly selected were given an anonymous survey prior consent to participate in research. The variables studied were age, sex, marital status of parents, employment relationship, consume alcohol, snuff and other drugs, modality, motives and social conditions family.
Results: Predominantly females at 82.2%. 55.6% of the parents are married and working relationships, 20% are smoking, alcohol consumption is high in the parents and students by 35.5% and 34.4%. The mode that prevailed were partying in 67.7%, there are 4 students who have used illicit drugs, 75% and 25% marijuana ketamine, the most representative conditions were prolonged stress situations with 38.8% and have family crises with 32.2%.
Conclusions: Predominantly female, more than half of the parents are married and occupationally related. Two-thirds of parents and students consume alcohol being the holidays mode prevailed and taste to them which led him to ingest. Only 4 male students have used illegal drugs. The situations of prolonged and intense stress and family crises presence of risk factors are present.
