Importance and drafting of the letter to the editor

ABSTRACT

Letters to the editor are short communications. In general, with comments in agreement or disagreement about the concepts, methods, interpretations, or content arrangement, etc., on an original article, review, editorial, or another publication format, previously published in a journal. This publication format encourages, promotes and encourages science through a productive activity of new ideas, thereby promoting the construction of new knowledge necessary to confront the ideas in the academic and scientific world; through scientific assertive communication and intelligible expression; generating a two-way communication between researchers, academics and students, which drives the development of science and consequently teaching of scientific knowledge. This kind of intellectual communication can develop generally in three formats: 1) reference to articles previously published in a journal, 2) affairs or topics of professional interest to readers and 3) present an investigation that would not be published in the form of an original article or a brief report or a short communication, and can be used as reference, making it even more important to their development.
