ABSTRACT

The formal education in Dentistry usually does not consider the operational aspects of clinical practice. Organizational, administrative, laboral and legal needs are empirically developed. The disadvantage of the lack of those kinds of capabilities is directly reflected in the production, maturity and practice income. Young dentists initiating their practice are in an excellent position to acquire and develop the knowledge to introduce at the beginning the concepts and practice of a dental enterprise. It must be recognized that dental services are offered trough an organization that defines market strategies, image, production costs and fees, as well as, tax, environmental, and healthy laboral relationships. In this paper the authors offer to the young dentist orientation to define business goals for his dental enterprise. On the other hand the established dental professional could be oriented to identified the characteristics of their practices and re-orient and re-structure it´s goals as dental enterprise to accent their presence and assure their persistence in this globalized and change environment. In this pages, is offered a series of practical advise that may bring immediate results, while a major organizational change is introduce to your dental enterprise.
