ABSTRACT

lntroduction. Numerous challenges include the design of restarations of teeth that hove lost substantial structure. Advances in the science of dental materials, digital imaging and CAD/CAM, hove led to changes in the production of dental restorations, as they hove the potential to reassemble the weakened strudure by strengthening the material and adhesiva procedures. Objective. To determine the best combination of surface conditioning of a resin-based material developed for the CAD/CAM system, the proper adhesiva and resin cement combination. Methods. 72 samples were prepared with 3 different techniques, a Universal Scothbond adhesive (3M ESPE) and 2 different resin based cements where used. Shear test in an lnstrom machine with evaluation in an electron microscope for artfculo original adhesiva and cohesiva failures were determinad. Results. Microscopic eval uation showed com bination of ad hesive and cohesive failures. Conclusión. The present study showed that the combination of sandblasting the surface with aluminum oxide-50 microns at 30 PSI, Scothbond Universal adhesive (3M ESPE) and with RelyX Ultimate cement (3M ESPE) of Lava Ultimate restorations (3M ESPE) is a very good and reliable combinotion for clinical opplicotion.
