ABSTRACT
This investigation was made to evaluate the design and the main characteristics of each part of the removable partial denture, constructed by 45 different dental laboratories of the Mexican Republic in a class II, modification 1 (Kennedy´s classification), mandibular cast. The results were obtained by observation and measurement of some of parts of the removable partial denture, finding out that very few dental laboratories took into account the ideal characteristics, putting at risk the functionality of the removable partial denture and the patient’s health if it were the case. That is why, we should remember that it is the dentist’s responsibility to do the removable partial denture design and the dental laboratory, to adjust to the specific characteristics of each part of the removable partial denture.
