Key words:

Topical corticosteroids, corticoid dependence syndrome, genital redness.

ABSTRACT

The redness syndrome in the genital area is a local, chronic and symptomatic disease, secondary to corticoid dependence, in both sexes, and it should be considered as part of therapeutic actions. We present two cases of the syndrome with inappropriate application of topical corticosteroids, a 34-year-old man, and a 42-year-old woman, both previously healthy, with scrotal and vulvar disease, respectively.
