Key words:

Sweet􀀀s syndrome, extraintestinal manifestations, unspecific chronic ulcerative colitis.

ABSTRACT

We present the case of a 42-year-old woman, who presented diverse manifestations of systemic inflammatory response syndrome: fever, odynophagia, cephalalgias, and severe facial erithema and edema. Previous digestive manifestations (abdominal pain, blood in stools) associated to important leukocytosis, skin neutrophilic infiltrations. Rectosigmoidoscopy findings allowed the diagnosis and treatment of Sweet’s syndrome secondary to unspecific chronic ulcerative colitis. We emphasized the extraintestinal manifestations that justify the search for this accompanying disease.
