ABSTRACT

The use of henna in certain cultures is considered an old tradition, but in ours, the use of temporary tattoos with this pigment is increasing as a fashion trend. The natural henna needs to be added with paraphenilendiamine (PPD) to get a black color. PPD induces contact dermatitis in susceptible individuals.
We report four cases of patients who presented contact dermatitis after the application of a temporary tattoo with black henna.
