ABSTRACT

This article presents some basic concepts of biostatistics that are useful in interpreting the results reported in scientific articles. The mean and standard deviation are measures of central tendency and dispersion used for reporting numeric variables. The p value represents the possibility that the results are not due to random effect. The OR expresses the possibility of presenting a phenomenon if you have a risk factor increases.
