ABSTRACT

The sagittal balance of the spine is affected by degenerative changes, mainly of thoracic and lumbar spine. Osteoporosis, with its bone fragility, is diagnosed with increasing frequency, being now one of the major health problems worldwide. In this article the outcome that fractures secondary to osteoporosis have in the sagittal alignment of the spine is analyzed, as well as the impact that the various forms of treatment to correct fractures caused by osteoporosis and the sagittal imbalance, of which there is little information on current medical literature.
