ABSTRACT

We report the case of a patient of 63 years with recurrent symptoms of achalasia after Heller myotomy. The patient had high pressure in the lower esophageal sphincter and esophageal dilation. The laparoscopic exploration found an incomplete myotomy with Toupet fundoplication. We performed according to current guidelines myotomy Dor with partial fundoplication. During the postoperative, the patient tolerated liquids, but had relapse of the symptoms. The case presented represents a small population in which reoperation for achalasia with myotomy Heller Dor with partial fundoplication, the symptoms do not improve. This area is little explored due to the effectiveness of most treatments.
