ABSTRACT

Medullar lesion is all damage or pathological condition that affects totally or partially the integrity of the spinal cord with the rising alteration of sensitive, motor and autonomous functions. The case of a 16-year-old adolescent is presented who was admitted in Julio Díaz Hospital, in Pediatric Rehabilitation Service, with the diagnosis of giant cell tumor of bone with infrequent localization at vertebral body D12 level, with after-effect an uncompleted spastic paraplegia. Rehabilitation program was applied and it included kinesiotherapy–mattress, neuromuscular reeducation below the lesion level, hydromassage, reeducation of pelvic floor and training in the treadmill h/p/cosmos with RoboWalk Expander system, the last one it´s especially appropriate in patient with medullar lesion to recover the forced at the first phases. The patient was evaluated at the beginning and the end of the treatment and clinical and functional improvement was observed.
