ABSTRACT

Objective: To let know about different types of injuries to which the general surgeon, the laparoscopic surgeon and other surgical specialties as well as the surgical co-workers are exposed during the regular practice when providing service and benefits to their patients. Design: Revision study, observational with no statistical analysis. Material and methods: Review of the literature 44 references were analyzed and they showed different types of injuries which occur in different areas of the surgical practice. Conclusion: Doctors and in particular surgeons, should be aware upon potential risks when providing service to their patients and they should extreme precautions in the intention to avoid injuries to theirselves.
