ABSTRACT

Primary tumors of the heart are extremely rare. Papillary fibroelastoma is the third most common benign tumor of the heart, with an incidence of 0.33% in autopsy series and the commonest in heart valves. A case of a patient with papillary fibroelastoma of the mitral valve and its approach to echocardiographic diagnosis is presented.
