ABSTRACT

Primary hyperaldosteronism is the most frequent cause of secondary arterial hypertension. The clinical management has evolved significantly during the past 50 years. The adrenal vein sampling for the differentiation of bilateral adrenal hyperplasia from the aldosterone tumor or the unilateral adrenal hyperplasia is very important because treatment differs and nowadays it is the method of choice due to the 50% of sensitivity reached by the computerized tomography in differentiating these pathologies. In the present case, the use of this procedure is used in a 36 years old patient with left aldosteronome that was not well defined in the radiologic images.
