Premature rehabilitation in-patient mastectomized with the combination of therapeutic massage, digit puncture and exercises

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The mastectomy is a method for the cure or decrease of the progression of breast cancer in premature stages, with the extirpation of lymphatic auxiliary ganglions, that brings matched up the affected member's functional limitation.
Objective: Determining the efficacy of the combination of the therapeutic massage, digitopuntura and exercises in patient mastectomizadas's premature rehabilitation.
Method: María Curie of the municipality accomplished an explicative experimental prospective longitudinal study at the oncology hospital in Camagüey from January 2013 to January 2015. Was selected 80 patients operated for technique of radical mastectomy that they obeyed the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, the ones that were attended in the after operative in Traditional and Natural Medicine consultation of this institution and at a later time followed at the Policlínico Tula Aguilera's rehabilitation service. 30 after the tall combining the methods of massage, digitopuntura and exercises were applied a re-qualifying premature treatment beginning the 24 h of surgical intervention and lingering on even to him. The evaluation of the treatment came true to the start and weekly during 4 weeks.
Results: The efficacy of the method was good in the 90 % of the patients. With premature rehabilitation the articular grade of the shoulder of flexion and extension return to normal in the 100 % in the third week. When the associated symptoms finalized the treatment they disappeared completely, only the parestesia is all the time in the 11,2 %.
Conclusions: We prove to be the therapeutic proposal efficacious in patient mastectomizadas's recuperation.
