ABSTRACT

Carcinomas of unknown primary have a big impact on the patient’s survival rate, this being that it has been proven that their molecular genetic bases are different from those primary cancers where origin is known, tending to behave differently and making treatment unspecific. Clinical evaluation has improved greatly due to merit on diagnostic development and empirical treatment, thus significantly increasing the median patient survival rate.
