ABSTRACT

The gynaecological tumors have a high morbidity and mortality in women. It is one of the causes for urgent and patient consultation. In United States alone there are 88,750 new cases of tumors and 29,520 deaths per year. Pain is the most frequent symptom and it is unspecific; in many cases the findings can be detected incidentally. The radiology is useful as a method of screening, staging, preoperative evaluation, detection of dissemination and control after the treatment. In this article the main uses of the ultrasound and the computerised tomography in this pathologies will be mentioned.
