ABSTRACT

In the last fifteen years there has been a growing interest in the study of SCT. One of the open debates in relation to Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) focuses on considering it a new attentional disorder or as a transdiagnostic construct. The SCT from a transdiagnostic perspective seems to fit with existing proposals. It would solve the existing problems of overlap and comorbidity. It would facilitate clinical assessment of SCT, and diagnostic processes as occur for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder when emotional dysregulation or perfectionism in anxiety disorders is evaluated. Also may facilitate the emergence of better-fit treatments for individuals.
