Small-cell carcinoma of the prostate. four cases presentation

ABSTRACT

The small-cell carcinoma of the prostate is not a very frequent entity, it is generally presented after the 40 years old, going the patients in advanced stage of the illness. The diagnosis is based on the histological study obtained by transrectal prostate needle biopsy. We present four cases found in one period of ten years. The small-cell carcinoma of the prostate is a highly aggressive tumor, dying the patients in the first year after the diagnose in spite of the radiotherapy.
