ABSTRACT

In 95 apparently healthy individuals quantified in blood and saliva the concentrations of urea by automated analyzer as an indirect form to evaluate glomerular filtration. Finding that the determinations in blood and saliva are equally reliable (95.5%) and normal ranks of 10.4-41.6 mg/dl, the easy quantification of urea in saliva is an advantage for patients who require their quantification frequently.
