ABSTRACT

The students' scientific research is a key element for the training of health professionals, an aspect reflected in the curricula of the different medical majors in Cuba. Besides, it constitutes one of the three pillars of contemporary university training together with teaching and care delivery work. The main objective of this type of workshop is to promote desire and love for research as a need for professional improvement. However, it also emphasizes the intention to build the students' capacity in order to replicate the experience in each of the educational centers through the "training of trainers" method. This 1st Workshop on the Scientific Research and Publication by Medical Students is added to the training strategies of Cuban higher education, contributing to its quality not only with the event content, but also for the creativeness of our students who once more demonstrate their commitment with, which means opening way to young science.
