ABSTRACT

This research paper's main objective was to describe the socio-representation of the urban image of the city of Toluca, embracing the elements of the urban image raised by Lynch: identity, structure and meaning from the analysis of cognitive maps and scale of Corraliza emotional significance of one sample of 40 students from the Faculty of Sciences UAEMex Conduct. The results show that the individual's ability to develop and use cognitive maps is due to the wide range of daily activities and direct contact with the environment. In conclusion the students show how socio representation elements are part of its logic temporal space and depending on their experience, their interaction with their environment and historical and cultural heritage.
