ABSTRACT
Firstly, after reviewing the usual nine classes of mental processes,
the difficulty and also the necessity of such distinctions are
emphasized. Secondly, all these mental processes are gathered
together under the title of representations, which is preferable
to the title of images, insisting at the same time in keeping the
denomination of image for the creative images. Lastly, it is defended
the notion of thought as a language, insofar as it is a system of representation, and in the same way this internal language
(neurologically based) is distinguished from the diverse
public languages (behaviorally based).
