ABSTRACT

Gastric adenocarcinoma accounts for approximately 0.05% of gastrointestinal neoplasms in pediatrics; its incidence is higher in females. We report the case of a 15-year-old male patient, with a clinical presentation consisting of right cervicalgia associated to paresthesia, dysesthesia, distal cyanosis and edema in the upper left limb, with onset five days earlier. As well, there was a weight loss of seven kilos in 20 days. An endoscopy of the digestive tract showed erosion of an infiltrative aspect in the gastric body. Biopsy report: an invasive adenocarcinoma of a poorly cohesive type with signet-ring cells. Due to the disease’s stage and the patient’s health condition, palliative care was provided to improve the quality of life, the patient died at 64 days of stay.
