ABSTRACT

The problem that gave rise to the investigation was the avatars that had to live and beat Guadalupe in order to support her son in control of Tourette Syndrome (ST) suffering appreciate. ST is a chronic neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by the presence of motor and vocal tics which must be present for more than one year. The aim was provide a document that contains the information of experiences had to face Guadalupe in mexican society, and with this, raise awareness on the importance of health professionals issue a well-founded and accurate diagnosis to patients and their families. Note the relevance of education to be provided about the condition to the family, the patient and society. Juan was a normal child who contracted measles; from 7 years hence Guadalupe noticed changes in her child’s behavior, seek medical help gave her erroneous diagnoses that it worried and desperate. After the battle, finally found a doctor who diagnosed the problem that her child has in a certain way. Subsequently, both faced problems in the family, school and social environment. Guadalupe never stopped giving support to her son, which has been of such importance that Juan currently already completed a degree. It should be noted that the treatment aims to optimize individual and family and not necessarily eliminate the tics.
