Congenital pulmonary airway malformation: a case report

ABSTRACT

We present the case of a newborn with diagnosis by ultrasound in the third trimester of congenital pulmonary cyst, without data of respiratory difficulty at birth. Radiography and chest computed tomography were performed, suspecting congenital malformation of the pulmonary airway. Surgical treatment was performed by resection of a right cystic lesion. Pathologic report was congenital malformation of the lung airway Type I. This is the first case where only pulmonary malformation resection was performed, without lobectomy or segmentectomy. The patient had good postoperative evolution without complications.
