ABSTRACT

With the objective to evaluate the utility of the sagital position in the obtention of the diagnosis of precision, a descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study was made in which the inclusion criterion was: patients with tomographic studies of rinosinusal pathology, being the independent variable: patients with multicut tomography and, the dependant, the imagenology diagnosis of precision; the intercurrent variables: age, sex, occupation, clinical diagnosis, and imagenological diagnosis; from the ethical point of view, the agreements of Helsinki were applied, statistical analysis was made in where the qualitative variables were described by means of absolute frequencies and percentage. In order to analyze the statistical differences we used ji². For the quantitative variables the values minimum and maximum as well as the average and the standard deviation appear. The comparisons were contrasted using the test of t of Student. The results and discussion such indicate the following conclusions to us: The sagital position offers greater information to us in 3% of our casuistry, in 3% of our cases the therapeutic plan changed and, finally, to obtain precision diagnoses, in the 100% of the cases the sagital position is due to include.
