ABSTRACT

The anserina bursitis is one of the most frequent causes of knee pain. The anserina tendinobursitis syndrome is characterized by pain in the internal part of the leg, right under the knee joint that is the place where the three muscle sinews are join to be attached to the bone, the muscles are named after sartorius, gracilis and semitendinosus. Due to its anatomical characteristics, it is also known as "goose leg" inflammation. It is most frequently observed in middleaged or old women with overload and arthrosis. The aim of this paper is to describe the case of a patient who presented this inflammation and a review of current concepts related to this common but underdiagnosed disease.
