ABSTRACT
In the thirties, Dr. Conrado Zuckermann launched a campaign
to fight cancer in Mexico given the proportions
that the disease was reaching in the country. His efforts
focused on two aspects that are analyzed in this study:
a propaganda campaign for health specialists and the
general public, to make them realize, among other things,
that the disease could be curable if it was treated on
time. On the other hand, it raised awareness of the need
for a specialized institution, which culminated with the
creation of the National Cancer Institute in 1946.
