ABSTRACT
How revolutionary was veterinary medicine since 1917?
The answer to this question is the main objective of the
article; to explain the contributions of veterinarians to
public health in the years after the Constitution of 1917.
This is why I present a brief summary of the actions that
veterinarians performed in order to improve the health and
hygiene conditions of the Mexican population, especially
in the rural sector that concentrated 80% of the Mexican
population and a good part of the production of consumer
goods, such as animal products.
