ABSTRACT

Introduction: moral values have been present in all societies depending on the prevailing socioeconomic conditions in each of them.
Objective: to explain the importance of the formation of moral values in third academic year medicine students from the subject of History of Cuba III.
Method: a bibliographical and documentary review of different books and updated articles related to education in values was carried out, as well as the syllabus of History of Cuba III. Theoretical and empirical methods were used. Among the first: the historical-logical, the inductive-deductive and analysis and synthesis; and documentary review in the second one.
Conclusions: training of the new model of health professionals, the consolidation of values, attitudes along with the ethical behavior in accordance with the principles of humanism and socialism, as well as the scientific-technical development to be achieved in students is essential and consubstantial.
