ABSTRACT

The aim of the present study was to carry out the factorization of the Differentiation Measurement Questionnaire developed by Vargas, Ibáñez, Guillén and Tamayo (2014), which is based on the theoretical concepts of Bowen. The sample consisted of 340 undergraduate students, aged between 18 and 25 years. The reduction of the data was carried out by means of a factorial analysis, in order to obtain the smallest number of reagents that would explain with greater precision the information contained in the data. After performing the statistical analyzes we obtained 23 items, which saturated in three factors and gave the highest variance, up to 45%. This was confirmed in the sedimentation graph, where three factors that were separated from the rest were observed, with a Cronbach's alpha of .921, a KMO of .923 and value was significant in the Bartlett's Sphericity Test. The three identified factors measure emotional states related to the degree of differentiation in the interpersonal interactions of individuals in three different dimensions: very close, general and distant interpersonal relationships. The results show an instrument with the statistical solidity necessary to evaluate the differentiation, with reference to the people that surround the individual.
