ABSTRACT

Objective: Assess the deformity of orthognathic plates from MODUS OSS 2.0 in postsurgical patients of orthognathic surgery involving mandibular sagittal technique. Material and methods: Retrospective study in 10 patients radiographs of «Dr. Juan I. Menchaca» Civil Hospital operated in the period of 2012 through 2014, which were used in orthognathic plates Medartis MODUS OSS 2.0 system for the fixation of mandibular sagittal split technique. Results: Patients undergoing surgery in which orthognathic Medartis MODUS OSS 2.0 plates system were used did not show changes over time. Conclusion: The use of sagittal plate of MODUS OSS 2.0 is the best option in patients who have referred the mandibular sagittal technique, due to better adaptation of anatomical structures as no postoperative deformations.
