ABSTRACT

Introduction: Most cases of toxic epidermal necrolysis and Stevens-Johnson syndrome have presentations with mucosal and skin involvement, derived from the reaction to certain drugs, which clinically constitute the same disease spectrum, although with a different degree of epidermolysis. Case presentation: Male patient of 11 years of age, admitted to the adolescent medicine service, who developed a severe presentation with cutaneous lesions, conjunctivitis and oral lesions after the ingestion of lamotrigine; treatment was conservative, although slow, the patient progressed satisfactorily. Conclusion: In the present case, isolation, minimal invasion and early initiation of enteral nutrition were appropriate to achieve recovery.
