ABSTRACT

The black hairy tongue is a benign acquired stomatosis, which affects the lingual dorsum, characterized by the hypertrophy with hyperkeratinization of the filiform papillae growth (hairy), giving a blackish brown color of the lingual surface (black), caused by the colonization of chromogenic bacteria and the concomitant presence of various exogenous factors. We present the case of a patient with black hairy secondary to the use of bismuth and multifactorial candidosis, studied from the mycological point of view, with good response to conventional treatment.
