ABSTRACT

Moscoso’s target-paper (2018) focuses on three essential issues: the difficulties of reaching a consensus on what mindfulness is, how to analyze the results of meta-analyses, and an attempt to methodologically define what is investigated when the usefulness of mindfulness interventions is assessed. These issues are examined in the present commentary. In addition to this, an explanation about the reasons for the exponential growth of the two mindfulness intervention models discussed by Moscoso (2018) —Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) — is offered.
